Hi Ladies!
Im a sweatpants or jeans lady so I need a little help with the latest fashion. Im not sure if stockings are old school but I feel like I should wear some. I'm getting married in Pennsylvania in 5days, weather is forecasting 43°. We wont be outside long, courthouse ceremony, a few pix in the park, dinner, then hotel.

Im thinking I should wear a shear stocking-- nude or white (possibly even black). But my shoes have a pretty lace detail and i dont want to take away from that. Im looking for an ankle length pea or trench coat (have only found knee length thus far) any suggestions??

Wear skin color stockings if it fits the whole look. Do a run through and see how you really feel. If it’s cold, lots of ladies still wear stockings. But I would
    go with my gut feeling

Congrats on your nuptials. If you do decide to wear stockings I think you should go with nude. Either way you will look beautiful on your day !

You look gorgeous! I'd say to go with whatever makes you feel the most comfortable and confident, without overly worrying about trends Smiley smile I'd opt for a sheet stocking that matches your skin tone well, so as to not add a second color tone to detract from the dress or your skin or hide the lace detail on the shoe. Either length coat should be lovely Smiley smile

Thanks Sara! The nude seems to make the most sense if i go with any. I've been online looking for long coats and havent been able to find one that i can pick up instore. So i may have to go with the knee length.

Thx tempestt. Believe it or not, the manager of the store picked them out and they were only $30. When she gave them to me to try i said they go with my dress perfectly. I couldnt leave them there 😂 ..and im not even a heel person 🤣😂🤣😂

I personally love your look without adding stockings. But you should feel comfortable, and if wearing stockings is what will make you comfortable then there is nothing wrong with going that route.

I just want to say you look beautiful in your dress you are glowing! I love love love the look on you with a skin tone nude color would be fantastic it’ll help keep the focus on your dress and shoes. It feels very retro glamorous chic like old school Hollywood stars ✨. You’ll look fantastic with a knee length pea coat !

You’ve already gotten quite a few replies, but I’m throwing my vote in for yes on nylons. I think that it just adds a bit of polish to a look. That said, not all hosiery is created equal. Since you’re not accustomed to wearing it, I would suggest that you go with non-control top. And because of the shoe detailing, look for ‘sandlefoot.’ Hanes Silky Sheer is pretty widely available, and I find it comfortable. I think you’d probably looked for the color nude 6 or gentlebrown, depending on the line. Calvin Klein also has nice, soft-feeling nylons. Not sure on their color range. If you’re having a hard time finding a color you like, going to something like ‘Ultra Sheer’ can help with that, but I honestly find weaves like that crazy uncomfortable and itchy. But whatever you decide, it’s an adorable dress and I’m sure you’ll look great!

Oh my goodness Kate, your suggestions are amazing and came just in time. I'll be headed to the store in about a hour for my final accessories, so will surely consider look into these options. One question, why did u suggest non- control top. Natural I would think to get something controlled, but again im no expert on formal wear.

I just suggested non control top for comfort, since it didn’t sound like you wore nylons regularly— but I could be wrong! Control top will give you a nice line and actually will be a little bit warmer, too! Most manufacturers carrying all their lines in both control and non control top, so you could always pick up both and see how they feel. Two pairs is never a bad idea, anyway, in case of pesky runs in the fabric! And just as another option, I have friends who love Hue brand, but I’ve never tried them myself. Good luck!

Hello, first I would like to say that both your dress and shoes are beautiful! I think if you were going to pick between the three color choices you had mentioned, I would go with the nude or even if you can find stockings that are closest to your skin tone so it blends naturally and wouldn't take away from your shoes.

You're absolutely right. I have worn nylons in about 20years. The only reason i said i would naturally go for a controlled is because im plump around the mid section so i thinking of someting similar to spanx (Not that i've worn them either). And thanks again for all the recommendations.

Thank you Kayla. I fell in love with both immediately. And after all the suggestion, Nude makes the most sense. So im going to buy the closest skin tone i can find and try them on with my dress &shoes and see which feels &looks the best to me.
