Stocking for tea length dress?

Andrea, on April 29, 2019 at 12:25 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 16
I’m getting married outdoors in October and will have a tea length dress. Do brides generally wear stockings? If so, what color?

I don’t think they do anymore. I didn’t with my reception tea length dress. If you want to I would think stockings that match your skin tone.

I hate stockings, so I would skip them. But if you like them go for it.

I really don't think you need to. It all depends on what you want to do. I went with a very 1950's tea-length inspired aesthetic so went the full 9 yards (stocking with garters and a corset). My stockings were a nude color. But really, even with a tea length dress, you really can't tell.

I wouldn't wear any stockings, but that's me. Also, I'm getting married in late spring/early summer in California, so bare legs will be the order of the day, just to keep cool. Having said that, I think nude would look the best with a tea length dress.

I love stockings! But I’m definitely the odd-one out and I recognize they are a bit old fashion. To me they finish a look and make your legs look awesome. I would recommended a thin, sheer pair that match your skin tone.

It’s also worth buying a slightly more expensive pair that is stronger. And stick a spare pair and/or a bottle of clear nail polish in your day-off emergency kit!

Sure! I have a close friend who is a very good seamstress. She is going to make this for me. Please ignore the watermark.

Thank you everyone! These suggestions help! I think I’m going to wear sticking. I don’t mind wearing them and would feel more comfortable. 😊

The last pair I bought were from Hue on amazon. I liked them, very affordable but decent quality. I worn a pair to my cousins wedding and they held up and were comfortable throughout the evening (even after rocking the dance floor).

I’ve heard amazing things about Heist, but they’re expensive and I haven’t really had a good excuse to shell out for them.

Kohl’s use to have a good selection (haven’t been in Kohl’s in years thought so I can’t speak to what they have today) and department stores like Macy’s and Nordstrom will also have nice pairs. Target also has a descent selection!

I’m getting married in a tea length dress and will not be wearing stockings. I guess it’s really just a personal preference!

I haven’t seen with stockings, but I assume it depends on personal preference. I’m sure you’ll look great either way!

So cute! Love the lace sleeves.

I had a seamstress convert a discontinued gown into a tea length with sleeves. So happy!
