Stock the bar party question

Hmm. i havent herd of that. but i know when i go to a party in mexico is is customary to bring a case of beer or food. so if it's normal in tx and if your in tx by all means g for it! i would!

Wouldnt work for me since we cant have alchol, but if your venue allows it, i say go for it. Not to mention Id rather have kitchen stuff.

I have never heard of a stock the 'Wedding' Bar. We had a stock the bar Engagement Party that our friends threw for us. It wasn't a shower, so their were couples there and it was just a way of saying Congratulations on your Engagement. Everyone brought a bottle of something for us to stock our OWN bar not for the wedding specifically.

I only know of 1 person that did this. ( We are in Texas also) it worked out well for them. They were able to get what they needed for the wedding thru the party, Before her having it, I had never heard of it before. I personally would not do it, just because we are paying for everything ourselves and would rather stock it with what we want rather than random different things ( our venue will only allow 5 different types of alcohol to be brought in other than beer and wine).

I live in Texas too! I've actually done this for a birthday party. It worked out pretty well. Hadn't thought about it for the wedding but I think its a great idea!

Thanks ladies I think what we are going to do is US but the beer and wine and we are going to make Lavendar Lemonade (with vodka) as a signature drink, and then let them throw a stock the bar party that way our family will feel like they are helping out to, and we can by all the mixes cups and stuff like that

I've heard of Stock the Bar parties, but for your home, not the wedding...
