Steps for: After hiring caterer

Felicia, on March 6, 2020 at 10:04 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 5
Hi all! So my mans and I recently hired a caterer. He’s very nice, down to earth and understands our vision! But what now???? We’re so confused about the next steps to solidify everything. We didn’t put any money down and he hasn’t really asked us much so what do we do? We want to have a walkthrough of our venue with him and he did tell us to write any questions down but I’m not sure what questions to ask! Pls help!!!

Ask for a contract. The contract should specify payment schedule and terms and conditions

After a contract you need to decide on a menu and do a tasting. Also come up with specifics which your caterer can provide about what's included- servers, utensils, plates etc.

Wow thanks so much guys! So we have a menu, we did a tasting but no contract yet. Although he did send me an invoice on pricing. What about after that? Are they supposed to be really involved in the days up to the wedding? We have about 80 something days left

Once the menu is set, there isn't really much more for the caterer to do. What are you looking for him to be involved in that he isn't?

Well I guess not much else, everything is so much more involved so I expected more. Thanks so much!
