Stepmom in procession

Tiffany, on October 14, 2016 at 11:29 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 3

My FH and I were discussing if we want to have a professional and have his parents walk down and my brother walk my mom. My dad would walk me but FH says I can't leave out stepmom. She's been in my life about 15 years and she's supportive but we have had our issues. She's not my immediate family in my eyes. He said she would be hurt and probably my dad too. I'd consider having her walk by herself but he says that's not fair either. I'm definitely not having a stepbrother in the processional. Anyone else have mixed feelings on expectations around including stepparents who you aren't too close with?

I'm not crazy about my FH's step mom either. She was his dad's mistress (but this was about 15 years ago, and his mom has mad nice for the kids)

I would feel bad keeping her excluded so we are having my FH escort his mom down the aisle and behind them will be his dad and step mom

My brother will do double duty and escort both my mom and stepmom down (not at the same time). I'm really close with my step-mom though so of course I wanted her in the ceremony. Why don't you want your step brother in the ceremony? I think he would be a good fit to walk your step-mom down the aisle.

My step mom and fh's step dad are not in the professional. My step dad will be signing the ketubah, but he also raised me.
