What did you guys do to remove wrinkles from your dresses? I hear streaming it works but I don’t know

I waited until a few months out to have it altered and the seamstress steamed it before I picked it up.

Following this thread because I am having a destination wedding and I won’t be able to send my dress to a cleaner. I am planning to buy a steamer in travel size to remove wrinkles from all of our wedding attire, not just mine.

I'm wondering this same thing - I don't have a garment bag that's long enough, so my dress bunches up. I'm wondering if I can steam in the room, or if I need to get a new custom bag and ALSO figure out streaming

My grandmother and aunt steamed my dress and my crazy long veil before I got to the venue the morning of my wedding. I didn't have a garment bag long enough for the dress and it got bunched up in the bag it was in. I think the steamer they used was from bed, bath & beyond.

When I pciked up my dress, the bridal boutique steamed it but when I took it for alterations they steamed it again. However it depends on the material of your dress because my dress took literally seconds and was done. I have it stored in its garmet bag until the day of and dont think it will need to be steamed.

I bought a small portable steamer for this reason. Every bride and bridal party should have one for the wedding day!

No problem! My veil came folded in a bag so there were creases in it when we pulled it out a few days before my wedding so they steamed it the morning of as well. Smiley smile

It depends on the fabric! I've used a portable clothes steamer on two friends' wedding dresses that were crepe silk and it worked really well! Being the person in charge of steaming the bride's dress is a stressful task though! Smiley laugh
