Stds

I_Do_Too, on August 4, 2019 at 2:45 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 10
Hi,
We are sending out STDs with two dates as we are having 2 receptions on different coasts to accommodate our families. Some people are invited to both and others to just one (for example my coworkers would be invited to the one here and I’m pretty certain they don’t expect to be traveling to a different state for my wedding).
Should I send the STDs only to people invited to both?

Yes only to people invited to both. Can you do them in three separate groups 1 with both days then 1 with what ceremony they are invited to. Maybe do different design or colors so they don’t get mixed up.

Hi, so I am doing something similar, they way I am setting it up is doing two save the dates/invitations. Just to separate it like you said so no one gets confused on where they should/need/ or feel obligated to go. If they are important to us we're giving them both options.
But so far I've only sent out one save the date to the people who will be invited to both.
So I think you're on the right track!

I would try to do 3 separate ones if you can. 1 for people invited to both, then another for each of the coasts. If I got a card with 2 receptions on it I would assume I was invited to both. You may still get some confusion, and people will most likely pick 1 or the other to attend.

I agree, having three sets would really eliminate excess confusion!

This. And who would go to two receptions, besides perhaps your parents or his? Usually people are invited to only one. And you never show info about an event someone is not invited to, alongside info on something they are invited to. Only people invited should see any info about either reception. So make up the separate Saves, and separate invitations. Or else call people, ask which one they would like to attend, then send Save and invitation for that event only .

We have about 20 people that are going to both because they want to.

And maybe 45 invited to both. Some people live in either of the two states so we are giving them the choice, they can decide which is more feasible to attend.
