I just saw another post about doing buffets and I was just wondering how many new brides or brides to be chose stations for their reception. This is ultimately what we chose as my fiancee loves to eat the variety and quantity that stations provide. However, I have never been to anything other than a sit-down dinner.

Tell me about your experiences with a stations wedding!

Wow! Thanks for all the advice ladies! I'm so happy to hear all the positive feedback about stations weddings.

I guess on Long Island they arent too popular or maybe its a regional thing because when I started looking in PA (where we are having our wedding) all the venues had station wedding packages.

We still have to decide on an official menu and I have some great ideas here! Thanks so much ladies

L.I. CatLady - Where in PA are you looking? I'm in Philly but our wedding is in South Jersey.

There is a place on Long Island called the Sand Castle. They do an great wedding and can probably do the stations for you. Look into it!

I love, love, love it! I was a caterer for years, and this was my favorite way to do a wedding. That being said.....

    - do have enough seating

-let your guests know that this is they style

-How does a guy develop a preference for white glove service? (sorry, I digress, but I hate white glove service. )

-don's assume that this will be a budget cutting alternative; it usually isn't

-mix up the choices so your adventurous and traditional eaters all have something to choose from

    Go for it!
