Ok,

I have been very confused on when to send save a dates ans invites. I get married in October of this year... should I just skip save a dates and just do invites at this point?

Do you have a lot of guests traveling in that would need/appreciate more than about 8 weeks notice to make arrangements? If so I’d either call them to give them a heads up or send s simple save the date ASAP. If not, I’d probably skip them and just make sure I had invites ready to go out about 8 weeks before the day.

Yes it’s past the point where save the dates would be useful. If you have a lot of out of town guests you can send your invites out next month, if it’s mostly local it will be fine to wait until August.

At this point, I'd save the $$ and just send out invites a week or 2 early.

I'd just send the invites after the fourth and call anyone you have traveling from afar. You might even need to make some phone calls to get RSVPs. But the plus side is it saves you money to do it this way.

Yeah a handful are not local. My biggest concern is to get information out intime for hotel booking.

At this point, I would just go ahead and send the invitations! We are sending out invitations for our Oct 12th wedding July 1st!

Did you already order and have them sent to you? Who did you go through and how long did it take to arrive?

Yes we actually ordered them at Christmas time (BIG sale LOL) We ordered from Ann's Bridal Bargains and it was really reasonable and they looked super beautiful and expensive! They arrived in about two weeks if I'm remembering right! Smiley smile

I think this is a know your crowd and your wedding. ours is a destination wedding so we opted for early send outs so people had time. We did save the dates about 9 months in advance and just sent our invites out last week I believe ( also an October wedding) but EVERY gust is traveling for our wedding and will need to book lodging and transportation and what not.

Maybe just send them both now. Save the dates people usually hang up on fridges anyways. But if anything I'd work on the invitations and make that your priority. Like I said we sent ours pretty early ( I think the knot wedding planning book said to mail them by mid July but we did early/ mid June instead). But like I said I have people driving and flying states away. We are getting married in TN and we have people traveling from NH, VT, NY, GA, FL, AZ and even CA so we needed to be on top of it for people to have ample time to find the best deals and what not.
