State line

We are looking at a venue that is just over state line from us. Does that change anything with the marriage license?

If I remember correctly, I think you need to get your marriage license from the state/county you are getting married in. Though, it might change from state to state. Check with both your county and the county you're getting married in to find out what their rules are.

Yes, you need to get the marriage licence from the state you're marrying in.

As Lisa said, you typically have to get your license in the state/county you are getting married in. I would look up the rules in the 2 states you are talking about just to be sure though.

The marriage license is for the state the ceremony takes place in.

I agree with the others-get the license in the state/county you’re getting married in. B

Your marriage license is issued by the county where you will be married.

We are doing the same thing! My fiancé and I both live in Wyoming and are getting married an hour away right across the border in Colorado. We have to go get a Colorado marriage license from the correct county office as well.
