Standard Bustle or Finger Loop? Or both?

Alyssa, on August 8, 2019 at 4:16 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 13
My FH and I are having a Disneyesque Fairytale wedding, and I was thinking about the iconic princess dances holding their dresses to show them off, which got me wanting a finger loop. But I also dont know anyone who's had one. Any of you have one the other or both? Pros and cons? I'll attach pics of the dresses I'm considering. Any ideas are welcome!

If you do choose to do a wrist loop, I would do a bustle as well. You're probably going to get tired of carrying your train around all night.

Personally I prefer a bustle. The finger loop just seems so awkward. However if you want it just for the dramatic effect e.g grand entrance, you can have the finger loop there and then have someone bustle you up afterwards, so you can dance more freely.

I love both of your dresses, but prefer the first one. Another thing I have seen ladies talk about was the off the shoulder sleeves getting in the way of dancing.

I agree with doing both so you can have your iconic princess feel and then when you're wanting more "freedom" you have the option of the bustle.

I loved my wrist loop, it didn’t bother me to carry it around at all, the strap just rested on my arm! I got so many compliments on how it looked too. This is the only good picture I can find where you can see it, of me with my BIL lol

I like dress 1 better (it feels more "Disney" to me) - not that the opinion of a stranger on the internet counts for much lol.

Caytlyn's right - that train is probably going to get heavy - sooner than later - and if you think of classic princesses (Cinderella, Aurora, etc.) they're generally holding the side of the skirt, as it doesn't have a train. If you do a bustle as well as a loop, then you can decide what you want on the day of.

I don’t like the look of a bustle personally, so I’m planning to do a wrist loop. My train is tulle so hopefully it won’t be too bothersome xD

I had both. Wrist loop was super useful when we were taking photos, but I got sick of it pretty fast and was very happy to bustle my dress.

The wrist loop will give you that dainty princess look, but you will have to carry it all night.
If you have a hard time imagining carrying the train all night consider the bustle

The loop is really nice, but the one negative is if your dress is really heavy. Try just holding it in your hand and see if you like it or not.
