Stamps

Hey guys! Anyone know how to save on stamps? I have 150 invitations and obviously 150 rsvps i don’t wanna be that bride and not put stamps in the rsvps but I’ve already spent $300+ on the invites and another $200 for stamps just blows my mind! I’ve already checked on amazon! And naturally i forgot to put our website on our rsvp 🤦🏼‍♀️ so that guests could just do it online. So I’m pretty sure I’m just gonna have to pay the $200. But hoping someone has another idea SOS

I saved a little bit by making my rsvps as postcards since postcard stamps are cheaper

Postage is the same price no matter what, there’s no way to discount it.

Having a post card RSVP you could use the cheaper stamp.

We forgot to put the RSVP website on our invites too. But no worries. We bought some Avery labels (they make clear ones) and put the website on the labels. Then we put the labels on the back of the invites. It worked. We’re actively (as I type) getting RSVP replies.

I had this dilemma too. Try to hand deliver invitations for family and close friends (I have some friends who all live in one area) so I just hand delivered or had one person dish out the rest. It helps especially for those friends and family who aren’t too far away and don’t mind! It’s not the best option but my family didn’t mind! Try to do this for like 50 ish people to bring down the cost.
Unfortunately postage adds up. My invitations (including international postage) were two stamps each invite sigh. but my RSVPs were a stamp each. I’m sending out about 70 max cards and it cost me about $100 in postage. I spent about $200ish on invitations so total $300 . I was def over budget but it’s done moving on to the next thing- anticipating RSVPs! Smiley smile

Stamp prices are set by the government I believe so unfortunately you won’t be able to get them cheaper.

Costco does sell them but they are the same price. There is no discount as someone else said. They are set by the government and you can not get them cheaper.

Postcard stamps are cheaper but they have to be on a postcard.

a stamp is a stamp, so it will cost you. I use PirateShip for my ebay sales, and often save money, but I've never used it to send an envelope, so I am not sure if you can get regular postage for cheap.

I would do what Jaki above suggested - print the online RSVP info on clear Avery labels and attach them to the RSVP cards. If there are guest you know for sure will not RSVP online, I would send them the return envelope so they can RSVP snail mail, otherwise don't send them to all the guests (the return envelopes).

I got stamps from EBay and saved quite a bit of money! I got 400 stamps for only $170. I think someone on one of the local wedding FB groups said they got stamps for cheaper on EBay so I looked and got them for my wedding. They’re just the normal American Flag Forever stamps but totally worked fine!

Correct but if you have an executive membership you get 2% back which is a small savings. Sorry I should have finished my 1st post but was distracted by my toddler lol

We are making our RSVP online only for this reason, also cutting out the RSVP cards makes the cards lighter so you don't have to use 70 cent stamps.

I did this too, but I searched and found the forever love stamps for only 3-5 dollars more!

That is true! I had that for a bit but didn’t get enough back to cover even the extra amount for the membership. I have since gone back to the standard membership.

Do an online rsvp rather than a mail in. Then you get instant feedback, and people don't loose the rsvp papers.

I don't know if it is the same now but at my office, we used to have a postage machine but got rid of it because we started using Stamps.com which did give you full price postage at a discount. We started doing everything by email so we stopped using that as well but worth checking into. It was free to sign up and we even received a free scale!

Just an idea, but you could check in some local "wedding buy and sell" Facebook groups to see if anyone is selling extra wedding stamps at a discount. unfortunately you can't buy stamps for cheaper than the set price anywhere, but maybe you can find someone who wants to get extra stamps off their hands

You can always set up a Facebook event page for your wedding. Then just have everyone who is on your Facebook who is invited to your wedding
