Stamped rsvp envelopes?

Paige, on November 18, 2019 at 10:54 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 8
When sending RSVP cards with the invitation, I thought it could be an easy way to save some money by letting the person invited stamp their own return envelope. Is it rude for me to send the RSVP not stamped for return? I have seen it both ways for weddings we have been invited to.

I personally would be very annoyed if I had to go to the post office to get stamps to mail an RSVP. I don’t think it’s ever ok to skip something for the sake of budget if it places a burden on your guests. Maybe as an alternative you could have your guests RSVP online.

I think getting people to RSVP is hard enough. If they don't have a stamped card that they can just drop in the mail, you'll never get that thing back! lol

    I'm stamping my RSVP cards.

I sent my rsvp envelopes stamped and labeled with our address. I don’t recall any wedding I’ve been invited to that hasn’t had a stamp included. I know the price of stamps can add up quick, but I think this is kind of a necessity.

I think you really need to stamp them for people, unfortunately. You can cut costs by either doing all-online RSVPs (or maybe just sending RSVP cards for people you think wouldn't be able to figure out your wedding website), or using postcard RSVPs instead since you could get cheaper stamps and wouldn't have to buy envelopes.

I think it's better to stamp it. You can try postcard RSVP - the stamp is much cheaper. The only reason I would say no stamp is if they're people like coworkers you see often, then they can hand it to you.

Stamps should be included on the RSVP envelopes as well as already addressed to you (or whoever they are being sent to). If you do not want to pay for postage you can do online RSVP's. This will save you money on postage as well as stationary.

I only think it's okay if they have the option to RSVP online. I doubt I'd send one back if it didn't have a stamp.

I would go ahead and put stamps on all the RSVPs to make it easier on guests!
