stag and doe theme ideas ?

Crystal, on May 10, 2015 at 5:53 PM Posted in Planning 0 15

Were starting to plan our stag and doe for February/March. I was thinking of having a theme but im having a difficult time coming up with one. Did anyone have a themed stag and doe (buck and doe), or been to one with a theme they would like to share ?

Thanks !

Pass invites through a gofundme page. This way you can ask for handouts in person and online, whichever is more convenient!

Paying for your own wedding is a cool theme.

Rude comments arent really necessary, if you don't like the idea, than don't do it for yourself.

I had to Google "Stag and Doe". We call them Jack and Jills here, and they are highly frowned upon - the theory is that adults who want to have a wedding should pay for it themselves, not ask friends and family to do so. If you're set on having one though, you can always look up "stag and doe themes" on Pinterest.

Jack and Jill's are a more common thing in Canada. We didn't have have one, but I had about 50 people asking me if we we're going to.

That being said I think the most common theme is 'Casino night'

I've never heard of this before (I had to look it up). I'm going out on a limb to say that you may not get many ideas here. You may get response similar to a "Honeyfund" thread... ETA - Duplicate.

You're probably not going to get the responses you want. Can guarantee you are going to get a bunch of comments you're not going to like. Best advice? Google it and don't bring it up on here unless you want a shit storm

I'm still trying to convince people in my real life that these wedding fundraisers actually happen. Nobody believes me. They think fundraisers are for dying people or animal shelters.

That's because fundraisers are for dying people and animal shelters. Fundraisers are not for selfish people who think that they deserve a wedding so they are making people (who probably won't even be invited) pay for it.

Here most March socials (the Manitoban verison of a stag-and-doe) are St. Patrick's-themed

This is another classic case of thinking because something is done regionally and occastionallythat it's fine to do it, no matter how rude it is.

I wouldn't even attempt to describe this to my couples. They'd never understand or believe it.
