Spray tan

FutureMrs.Perry!, on March 3, 2017 at 10:07 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 20

I really want to get a spray tan for my wedding but I've heard so many bad things about people getting spray tans that it's made me rethink it. I definitely wouldn't want to do something dark I mean honestly just a light glow is perfect. Do you guys recommend spray tans, like a very light spray tan? or did you get one for your wedding and loved it or hated it? I just want a little extra pop but if I lay out I don't want to burn. Thanks!

I do not recommend spray tans for a bride's wedding day. Embrace your natural skin tone!!!!

I just got a spray tan for my friends wedding. Here are my recommendations:

    1) Do not go to a booth. Go to a place where a spray tan tech will actually spray you. The tan will be more even this way.

    2) Research and read reviews (not on the company's website) before going in. Find out what kind of products they use and research those products as well.

    3) Obviously, do a trial run before the wedding. If for some reason it turns out patchy or you just don't love the way it makes you look, you don't want to find that out the morning of your wedding.

    4) Follow the specific instructions they give you for pre-tan and post-tan care. They give you this information for a reason, don't ignore it.

I would test it out before the actual day meaning months before if you have the time and go to a place you trust and don't just use a booth. I would have an actual person do it for you. You can remove it if you don't like it, it's a pain to remove but possible

I have a consult with a woman who does it professionally. Look around. Do your research. I've heard really good things. And really bad. Create your own experience and do a trial run. Then you can decide.Smiley smile

If you're thinking of having one for your wedding, I recommend a trial before to see how it looks on your skin and get a better idea of what shade you want.

I got a spray tan once and didn't like it, but it could have been the place I went. I like using self tanning moisturizer. To start I usually mix with a regular basic lotion, and work my way into just using the self-tanner.

I've always liked the way Spray Tans come out on me.

that being said, I find no matter what the color transfers for a few days. You could try it, you might like it. You could also try some of the really simple daily use lotions. I've liked Jergens Natural Glow for an every day moisture and a subtle glow.

P.S. - if you go the lotion route, make sure it doesn't have sunscreen in it for photography reasons on the day of your wedding.

I got an airbursh tan for my wedding and I don't regret it one bit. It looked awesome and I am so glad I did it. I was worried about it staining my dress. However, I got it a few days beforehand and it wasn't a problem. Test it out first.

I agree with PPs about having a person spray you vs going to a booth.

I'm very fair skinned and hate it, so I get spray tans every so often for trips or events. Some have turned out great. Others, not so much.

The most recent time was for our engagement pictures. I wasn't orange or anything, but I just started feeling not like myself, and I was really regretting not going with my natural skin tone. I had considered getting one for the wedding, but after the e-pics, I decided it wasn't worth the stress if I hated it or it didn't turn out right.

If you're set on getting one, I again agree with PPs--please, please, please have it done by the same person with the same color a couple times before so you can see how the color looks on you, how long it stays on, etc. I've also heard that spray tans can photograph a little odd, too. I haven't experienced that, but others have.

I've had good and not so good... I'd try out your local salon ahead of time. I've also spray tanned before going to Vegas and when I got in the pool there was like a film around me and some showed up on my towel.. so that's something to be aware of too, for the honeymoon.

If you're not against indoor tanning, since you've got enough time, I'd get a package and go that route.. take it slow at first so you don't burn. Then at least you know you'll come out tan and not orange. And no splotchy fingers or neck etc.

I hd gotten 2 spray tans in the past (not for a wedding) and they faded very blotchy & the color was darker in the wrinkles in my neck - I'm 27. I wouldn't recommend it especially if you are going on your honeymoon right after the wedding.

I am doing a spray tan for my upcoming wedding and had never done one before. I am using a recommendation from a friend so I know it would be good and I also did a test run last week to see if I liked it first which I did! I agree to not just do a booth, I'm doing custom airbrush being sprayed on by a real person not booth. I loved the color the most on days 2-3 so I'm doing it a few days before the wedding so it'll just be a perfect glow by then, like I would have if my wedding was summer since I naturally darken from the sun but March doesn't lend itself to coloring my skin!

Airbrush tans are better than a spray tan in a booth.

I did organic airbrush by a person. Literally told her just don't want to match my dress. I also did a trial spray tan the same weekend as my hair/makeup trial. I did it the Thursday before a Saturday wedding. Attached is me and my sister - we both got it done.

ETA that pics in the limo with shades down so looks a little darker than it was
