Spray Tan

Kristen, on April 19, 2012 at 9:18 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 20

How many brides are spray tanning before their wedding? Have you done it before? If so, how many days before are you doing it? If not, are you going to do a trial before?

I spray tan every 2 weeks. just because i dont wanna keep layin in the bed but yet still keep my tan. i would do it at least a day before the wedding so it sets in and it wont fade. i may spray tan before i havent decided yet.

I'm thinking about doing a trial run to see how it looks on me and the if it looks good I will do it right before the wedding..I'm not a fan of indoor tanning but I don't want to be too white for the wedding Smiley smile

I've never gotten one before. I'm just freaked out that I could turn orange or have a reaction to it.....I mean what are the chances? But you never know! I only have about 2 weeks left! FH says I should stick with the tanning bed. @GBAC-That's what I'm worried about to!

Does anyone have any pics of a spray tan? or what it looked like? did it rub off on your dress?

I was using the tanning bed but decided to stop.

My FSIL got one last Sunday and she's been trying to talk me into it. My older sister texted me today and said she was thinking about doing it. Thanks Keli716!

Yeah even if it doesnt rub on ur clothes ur dress is a lot tighter in areas than clothes are and what about when you are dancing and you have sweat and rubbing?? FH is gonna b like u look funny when he gets that dress off and your skin is all diff colors!! and what about the day after, espec if you will b in a bathing suit on your HM.. idk, those are my reasons why im going with one that doesnt wash off Smiley smile

I am debating on it. I am really white and worry the coverup for my tatoo will show alot if I don't get it.

It would look pretty awkward being in Jamaica with an uneven tan!! Not sure I would even want to go outside!

I actually had a Post up like a week ago or so and this was my story:

"I had a spray tan done by a lady at the salon (not a stand alone spray tan machine) and it was the best thing ever...or so I thought! It looked great for about 2 hours...then I began to turn orange and I became so patchy! IT WAS HORRIBLE! The next morning i woke up with my shirt, that was white, well it now had orange spots all over it. AND the women swore to me that it wouldnt turn my wedding dress orange if i did it the morning before the wedding and showered that night I would of been fine....yeah right!! Today is only my third day with it and it looks disgusting, even though i followed the directions the lady gave me it looks like I've had it for 10 days.

I will be sticking to the tanning bed/stand up tanning. Never doing a spray tan again."

sooo yeah thats how my experience went Smiley sad

Yikes!!! That's exactly what I'm scared about! Maybe I'll just stick with the tanning bed! I've been going for a few weeks now, so I should be ok!

Sounds like its a good thing you did a trial run! Thats why I think I'll just randomly go and try it some time to see how it turns out, without chancing my wedding, and to make sure my skin doesn't break out or anything!

I've been so crazy busy with the wedding being out of town, that I haven't even thought about it. If I would have, I would have tried it way earlier. But with being two weeks out, I don't even want to chance it.

Also i just want to add that because it lasts a week or so, the way it comes off it made my skin look dirty like i haven't showered in weeks, and im going on my honeymoon the next week and i would hate to look like i did. I've been tanning in a bed or stand up and i am sticking to it... spray works for some people, i would suggest trying it, like i did, and seeing for yourself as well Smiley smile

I wouldnt chance it since you have never done it before.. hit the tanning bed.. just start out low on the time at first so you dont burn and peel!

I've had a spray tan before and although it was a pretty good experience with decent results, it might be too risky for a wedding. Plus, my feet were blotchy and the lines were very visible where the spray didn't get, even though I followed the directions!

I also haaaate the smell that lingers with you for the couple days after Smiley sad

There's always the potential for things to go wrong...as Ross can prove here:

    Ha!

As much as I don't think using a tanning bed regularly is a good idea, I think it's the best option for a natural looking tan - especially if you're going away for a honeymoon! Anywhere tropical and closer to the equator, you need a good base tan, even if you SPF the crap out of yourself! Just be smart about it Smiley smile Protect your eyes, use a good tanning lotion, exfoliate, and moisturize your skin!!!

I a trial tan for my BP three weeks prior to the wedding, it looked great but just a bit dark for my liking so I waited and I did it a week before the wedding, I didn't want o be too "dark" I just wanted a slight bit of color. It looked great but I will say it DID rub off on my dress from dancing etc during the night. You couldn't tell on my body that it had rubbed off but it was definitely orange on the lining of my dress.

I did not use the Mystic Tan that is so popular I actually was sprayed by a person. I would say definitely do a trial before (probably this week!).

Edit to add photo. This is my BP one day after tanning.
