Spray tan question: Will it rub off on my dress?

Nicole, on May 18, 2017 at 6:51 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 12

I'm debating getting an airbrush spray tan for my wedding, but I'm worried it will rub off on my dress. Anyone have any experience with this?

I got a spray tan and nothing got on my dress. I got it done Thursday for a Saturday wedding so I had showered twice before the dress

I've had multiple spray tans and they have never gotten on my dresses, including a white prom dress! I do recommend only getting one coat of spray tan though for a nice "glow" two coats for an actual tan looks very very unnatural when youre next to anyone who has not tanned

Years ago for prom I wore a white dress and had a booth tan, not airbrush and it was 95 degrees that day so it did get on my dress. Everyone always says airbrush tans are way better though and I'm sure things have change with spray tans since I last got one anyway.

I think as long as you have a day or two to shower before hand you'll be good!

I haven never gotten anything on my clothes from a spray tan. I would recommend (like pps mentioned) two showers in before your wedding to ensure you get what I like to call the "top coat" off. More importantly, make sure you go to a professional who uses good product.

My friend got one before her bachelorette party (a few days before) and it did get on her white bikini so I'd be careful! May have had to do with sweating though.

I didn't have any spray tan get on my dress either...but the weather was great all day and I didn't get super sweaty. I got it on thurs, married on sat. It also did not get on white dress for the rehearsal on fri. I also only got a very light spray to give me a bit of glow! one of my BM's got one with me and hers was much darker--she didn't have any problems either with her pale blush dress.

If you live in a hot area or think youll get super sweaty, I may be leary of it....but otherwise youll be fine.

It depends on the product they use when you get it done. Pro tan brand will come off on clothes if applied in a couple of coats.

If you did a makeup trial without the spray tan I would skip doing it now. It could potentially change how you look in the dress and what products will enhance your beauty.

I got a spray tan Friday night for my Sunday afternoon bridal shower, and it definitely rubbed off on my dress under my arms where there was more contact / friction on the fabric. It did wash right out easily but just an FYI.
