spray tan and stretch marks?

Never done a spray tan, but I've tried self tanning lotion, which is the same principle. It definately makes stretch marks darker.

On a related note, tanning lotions without tons of pigment (ie: for tanning beds) does not have this effect, it actually makes them all but disappear.

Yeah, I'm thinking the spray is going to do the same thing as the cream. Maybe I'll call ahead and see if there's anything I can put on them to make the tan not stick :/

Nope. I got spray tanning before any major event. I am whiter than a ghost and have stretchmarks all over my stomach from my wonder daughter who decided to go from peanut to child in 1 month while I was carrying her.

I love spray tanning, it gives me a healthy glow and evens out my freckles & stretch marks. Just don't go super dark. I get the bronze level 1.

NO NO NO NO NO!! IF you're going to get a spray tan, you need to get it at least 3-4 days prior to any event! It needs time to settle on your skin!

If you do it Friday, it will not look good, and you will leave spray on every dress you put on! This is a bad thing!

Do u hve stretch marks on hidden places like your thighs? Maybe they can test that area?

AGREE WITH MEGHAN!!! I had a girlfriend who did a spray tan the day before a big party and she wore a light coloured dress... it rubbed off on her dress and ruined it due to all the moving and hot lights and dancing!

I suggest calling the bridal show and asking them about getting a spray tan first because the last thing you want to do, is have to pay for every dress you put on that day just because you wanted to look a little darker.

@ meghan actually I disagree. My spray tans will fade in a few days so I do a day ahead of time and wear loose clothing. I've never had a mishap and even hours after it has never stained clothing.

Well I'm doing it Friday and the show is Sunday. I know lots of people who have gotten a tan at this place, and by the 3rd or 4th day it was already fading.. I told them my timeline and this is when they told me to do it.. And they know I'm wearing a wedding gown! This is when they tell people to do it for weddings.

I agonized for months and months about what I would do to conceal the small stretchmarks on my arms for my wedding day. I contacted salons specializing in body make up (way expensive) or spray tans (also pricey) and finally, I heard of a product sold generally at most convenience stores (Walgreens, CVS, Target, Walmart ,etc.) called Sally Hansen's leg magic. It's a spray tan that is supposed to make your legs look smooth and even. I tried it on my arms and I LOVED it!!! Now, I have like 5 different shades on me. My face, arms, upper arms, legs and chest are all different shades...and for my sister's wedding which was a year before mine, I really hated the photos I took because my different tan shades made me look silly. Anyway, this leg magic gave me an even tone! It got rid of my farmer's tan (I rarely get sun on my upper arms cus I dont really wear tank tops) and it did more than that..it covered up my stretch marks and even some scars, when I thought it would just make them darker!

I think the trick will have to be finding the perfect shade though and unfortunately, it only comes in 3 shades. Light, medium and dark. Medium worked perfect for me. Good luck!

You have no idea how much I love you right now Mrs. Turner!! I have horrible tan lines from gettin burned last summer and can't seem to get rid of them. I am going to try this!

I just got a spray tan sunday at this bridal fair and i patted (sp?) myself down with a towel before putting my clothes back on and non rubbed off on my nude color bra and undies...its now thursday i still have somewhat of a tan...im so pail and i went with a medium tented...instead of getting it a day before your show get it 2 days before, just incase. but i got those lovely strechmarks and it doesnt make them stick out at all...i think it looks better... good luck with your show!!

Michelle- i was getting it two days before anyway but i just had to call and reschedule, because i have a dinner to go to tomorrow night and don't wanna go all sticky and gross! so i'm going today!
