Spotify as DJ

Frugal Fiancée, on May 19, 2017 at 10:30 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 4

Has anyone ever used Spotify to DJ their wedding? As my handle suggests, I'm extremely frugal with only months to plan a September wedding. Thoughts please and thank you!

Spotify is background music, not a DJ. That may work for you, but if you need announcements, intros, someone to read the dancefloor and keep it packed? Spotify won't work. And neither will your cousin Fred with spotify.

I've seen a few brides posting on here that they plan to do it. If you go this route, you definitely need to subscribe to the ad free version.

If you are not big on the dancing aspect and just want background then its perfect. if dancing is important and you want there to be a flow then i suggest getting a real DJ and that includes not getting a friendor to say 'yeah i can do totally do that for ya'.

Thanks for the advice y'all. We're having a Sunday afternoon reception. Our venue comes with a sound system/ mic and about half of our guest aren't much for dancing.
