Special transportation

Ash, on December 4, 2020 at 10:46 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 12
How many of you are planning to have a limo or party bus?

I honestly don't think I want special transportation, my ceremony and reception are at the same location. The only reason to use the transportation is go to our special location to take pictures so I think it would be useless (we could just have a family member drive us) but I want to hear your opinions!!

Not worth the money to me. Have a friend or family member drive, use an Uber or Lyft. No need to spend extra money on something that will hardly be used.

I would skip the fancy transportation. Just use your own car to get to the ceremony venue, if you're getting ready there.

Meh, we are just going to uber/ lyft back to our hotel room at the end of the night. We are pay for a bus/shuttle to drive from the hotel to our venue which about 10 mins down the road.

We did not have special transportation and worked out perfect! Ceremony and reception were at same location. Due to COVID was another reason we didn’t want a limo. Totally not missed ❤️

I'm not. Doing the frugal thing and getting an uber or a lyft.

My matron and honor of I discussed this in depth for a while.

    The conclusion: it's not necessary.
We're getting uber's for the bridal party. All of the bridal party members are from out of town/state and will be staying at a local hotel.
As for my future husband and I. Probably the same. It's just extra money in my opinion. But it's everyone's own decision and what their budget allows.

My husband and I are opting out of transportation for our big wedding. Our ceremony and reception are in the same place as well, so there's no need for us to provide transportation. Our venue has free parking and our hotel block is at the same venue (our big wedding will be downstairs in a ballroom)

Mostly they are unnecessary, unless in the boonies, and you need something due to drinking. ut I have been in a few weddings where I have appreciated them. When the bride is in a full ballgown, and BM are in very full skirts too, a regular car, or worse an Uber, can be too small for the skirts. Party limos are terrible too, entering at 1 door and walking thru, you get crushed and wrinkles. The style that is an extra long town car, or Airporter style limos with 4 bench seats for passengers and a door on either end, an 8 door limo, is great for big skirts
Sit down, turn, 2 people sharing a 3 person bench seat, no steps like vans.

If they are in the same location, then it isn't necessary. I've only seen it when the bride and groom and bridal party have to travel from the ceremony to the reception.

We did for this exact reason (to get from the hotel to a different location for taking photos with our bridal party, and then to the venue. The driver waited for an hour or so during the photos). After the reception was over we used Uber to get to our afterparty. If we didn't have our wedding party with us then we certainly would have just taken Ubers by ourselves for everything, but I was also concerned about being in an Uber with a giant ballgown. Unless you have an enormous ballgown, you'd be just fine having a family member drive you or taking an Uber or Lyft.

I like the idea of a party bus, but for us the reception and photo location are only 5 minutes away from the church and it wouldn't be worth the money. But to make it a little more special for us, we rented a fancy Rolls Royce for my fiance and I to get to the church and to pictures and back to the reception venue. I'm super excited for it, and it will look great for pictures!

Agree with the others, not worth the expense! Uber, Lyft, family member or even renting a van from enterprise if your dress if huge would be less expensive!
