It's really up to your preference on how many things actually get a special song, but I'll give you the list my DJ gave to me and let you decide

1) Groom entry song (ceremony)

2) Wedding party entry song (ceremony)

3) Bride entry song (ceremony)

4) Newly wed exit song (ceremony)

5) Couples room entry song (reception)

6) Couples 1st dance (reception)

7) Father-daughter dance (reception)

8) Mother-groom dance (we aren't doing this one, but if you are, you'll need a song for it) (reception)

9) Cake cutting song (reception) (I have no idea yet what we'll do for this lol)

10) Couples last dance song (reception)

You'll also want to have different playlists for cocktail/dinner and then dancing, if you're having dancing at your wedding And again, keep in mind that this is just the list I got from my DJ. If you are doing bouquet toss/garter toss, or other wedding traditions, you might want to have a song picked out for that so you can have some music in the background. Your call!

If during the ceremony you’re having special things like a unity portion then a song could be played then too
