sparklers

Brittany, on May 25, 2010 at 10:49 AM Posted in Planning 0 21

Hi All,

We are planning to use sparklers for everyone to hold as we leave the reception (they look grat in pictures!) It would be easy to buy at a fireworks stand with our July 3 wedding but they don't last long enough. Our DJ said he knows that other brides have found longer lasting ones through wedding sites. Any suggestions?? I thought maybe someone had come across some during their planning.

Thanks!

I have seen ones that are like 2-3 foot long and last quite a bit longer. woth the wedding being close to the 4th they will probably be easier to find. maybe do a google search and find the name of them so when the firework places start opening you can ask them if they know where to find them.

Go to sites like www.orientaltrading.com and stuff like that where you can buy them in bulk..I'd type in "sparklers in bulk wholesale" or something along those lines in google and price them out.

They have some that last 270 seconds. Which seems to be the longest lasting ones I've seen. Good luck.

Make sure your venue will allow sparklers.

Make sure your venue will allow them, and just an FYI- I've talked to some people who said the sparklers ruined their BM dresses and even her wedding gown and the guests' clothes had little burn holes in them too.. So be careful

I ordered mine through http://www.sparklersrus.com/. They have wedding packages, and were very reasonable. And they were free shipping for certain packages.

Thanks for all of the info. I will check out these sites and the old discussion. I did check and I know our venue will allow them as long as we provide sand buckets. We thought about the clothes issue, but with adults, we're going to trust them to be careful and hope for the best! Thanks again for the advice!

Another FYI, my brother just went to a wedding that had sparklers and he was in charge of getting them all lit and thought he'd take a shortcut and light them all at once. Well if any of us remember from when we were kids if you light 20 sparklers at once they will go up in a big fire ball and then burn out.

Needless to say all the sparklers were bent black sticks after that Smiley winking
