Sparkler send offs

Samantha, on June 21, 2019 at 5:43 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 1 4
For those with a sparklers for their send offs how did/will you go about it? Did/will you provide complementary matches? Should I expect guests to share their personal lighters? Should I have a select trusted few have lighters to light everybody’s sparklers? Should we just use candles?? I’d really like to have a sparkler send off but I’m unsure of how to do it. Side note, if you’ve done it, was there any problems that I should look out for? Like damage to clothes or something? Just very nervous 😅

My wedding planner handled all of this so I don’t really know but I’m guessing they had a couple big lighters to light the first ones? And then people shared their sparkler flame to light theirs? That’s how it’s been at weddings I’ve been to but I have no idea what happened at mine haha.

I was in a wedding where we did it. Someone lit the first one on each row and then we used our sparklers to light each other’s. Then you need a bucket of water or sand for when they’re done. Also they burn down really fast so you need to be ready to go through.

    Hey Samantha!

Sparkler send offs look amazing in photographs! If you have a photographer for a certain number of hours, you should ensure that they are still around when you are planning your send off!

I think simply having a box of matches will work for people to light their sparklers, especially since they can also light them off other sparklers.

I would have 3 designated lighters on each side lighting, one starting at the front, middle and end. Then people can light those next to them down the line. If you only have one at the beginning then the sparklers will die before they all get lit up. Also the designated lighters can help get people lined up in the correct spot and make sure everyone is paying attention before lighting Smiley smile
