Sparkler send off

Emma, on July 9, 2019 at 12:45 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 1 11
Hello!

Those of you who who did a sparkler send off what length did you use? I’m looking at the 36 inch sparklers. Did you get a deal on them? Did you order enough for two per person? (I think this would look awesome with more sparkles and it would prevent people from taking photos/videos during our grand exit). What about matches? I’m trying to figure out how much (quantity) to get. We are inviting 120-140 people.

We did the 20 inch ones and it was great. I’ve been to weddings with the 36 inch ones before and everyone had to stand around afterwards for a minute or two until the sparklers went out. We ordered one per person because some of the older people had left earlier so not every single guest was there for the sendoff. I have no idea what we did as far as a lighter because my wedding planner handled that.

That’s interesting! I’ve hated the 36 inch ones at weddings I’ve attended as a guest.

My day of coordinator recommended the 36inch sparklers. I've been a guest for these exits as well and had no problem taking pics/video

We did the short ones at my friends wedding in January and we had to do it multiple times to get the photo. They did not last. As far as the lighter we lit the first one on each row and then lit each other’s down the row.

I plan on doing sparklers and we are getting the 20 inch! Just enough time to take a photo without the awkward waiting around for them to fizzle out. Of course, if you want wiggle room for photos, I'd get the longer ones. Also, we plan on having 4 lighters to light both ends of the lines and then go down the line from there to make it quicker.

We're doing 36inch mainly for that extra little window of time (as previously mentioned). I wanna have all the bases covered with all the "wait I blinked!" people, and the ones that weren't even looking at the camera, or whatever else could possibly happen lol. We're gonna have a couple buckets of sand to extinguish them in case of any emergency or if we finish photos before they're done burning and anyone wants to put them out.

I am also planning on doing a sparkler send off so it's good to know what length to get. Also where did people buy them? I want to purchase them in bulk but don't know where.

I was also told to get the longer ones by my venue/wedding planner. I am also curious as to where you buy them? I need about 150.
