Sparkler Send Off - Is it worth it?

One thing to consider too is whether or not your photographer will be there long enough to capture a sparkler send off. You can do a fake send off early or yours can do one later in the night at the actual end, I’ve seen both. Our photographer is only staying long enough into the reception to get some dancing photos and then they're done. They suggested a ribbon exit after our ceremony, which I loved looking at photos of, so we’re opting for that instead of a fake sparkler send off.

I'm personally not a fan of the fake staged sparkler exits because they have the potential to confuse guests, who might take that as the cue to leave. I think that doing a sparkler exit would be worth it if your photographer will be staying until the very end of the reception, but if your photographer will be leaving earlier, then I'd skip it.

Typically the couple leaves as soon as the send off is done. Guests take that as a hint to leave as well. While it appears to be a new trend to have a fake send off, it's very confusing and annoying for guests.

I personally don't love the sparkler send off idea. While they make some nice photos, it can be confusing as others said if it's fake, your photographer probably won't be there for a send off unless you pay them, and if you have to clean up your venue yourself, the sparklers make a HUGE mess apparently. They do make nice photos though.
