Sparkler send off after ceremony

M, on April 11, 2017 at 8:17 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 8

Hi all,

Have any of you done a sparkler send off after your ceremony? How did it work for you? What kind of sparklers did you use? Did it turn out the way you thought it did? I see this done all the time in wedding photos but I've never seen it in person or have known someone who has done it. I'm planning on doing a sparkler send off at my wedding weather permitting so I wanted to start this discussion to pick your brains and get the pros and cons.

TIA!

We did one! It was fun, but haven't gotten pics back yet! Both my brothers did them at their weddings, as have most our friends, they are always fun...minus the occasional jumping spark! I don't know what brand our were, but get the longer burning ones..some of the shorter ones will fizzle out before everyone gets theirs lit and you can exit.

We're doing one! We're ordering the 36 inch sparklers from weddingoutlet.com. I've also seen it done for the first dance, which is cool. Just make sure your venue allows it!

We're doing one! Good thing I live in Texas, because my wedding is 4 days after July 4th so I'll be able to stock up then!!

They make for great pictures, but triple-check that your venue allows them! A lot of venues have banned them after bad experiences (drunk guests accidentally setting things and each other on fire)!

Most of my venues don't allow them anymore.

Thanks for the opinions ladies! My venue does allow sparklers (I was surprised that she said yes) so we are go to go on that front, now it's just a matter of finding sparklers long enough!

My venue allows it if they handle it. No sparkles for children or drunks! Lol. But they will hand out and help light. I guess for insurance purposes.
