Spanx!

Mrs.T, on June 19, 2014 at 3:30 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 13

Who's planning on wearing spanx? What did you buy?

I want something that will hold in my pot belly, and perhaps give me a wee bit more junk in my trunk, lol.

I am scouring the spanx website now, but many of the items that don't go right up over your waist (I need up to the natural waist only as have open back), and halfway down to your knees (I am concerned about getting hot and sweaty 'ahem' down there) have really bad reviews! Ie that they roll/ride up and are really uncomfortable.

Who has some or has tried some? Any recommendations?

Also did you know you can get a BRA for your butt now? lol! I was so tempted to buy until I read the bad reviews!

Thanks!

Try your local department store, I just bought a waist trainer for my high school reunion. I dont like the panties, they make you butt look flat.

I thought about getting this: http://www.shapeonshaper.com/

they get really good reviews and because of the material you won't get too hot.

I got these. They might go higher in the waist than you want though. I like them a lot. They are way easier to take on and off than spanx and more comfortable. I've also read that spanx fall apart quickly.

I tried my dress on with spanx for my first fitting and I didn't like how it smooshed my butt down. They held in my tummy but I looked kind of "square" and they were hot...

Someone suggested the brand "Rago" if you google online, a place called American Shapewear sells them and some other places. I read a ton of reviews and they were positive, there are different levels of firmness, and there are different styles that might suit your dress better. I ordered a couple to try out for my next fitting.

I am seriously thinking of looking for something to tone down this tummy. I don't want it around my hips/butt though. I haven't looked but I hope I can find something like that.

I wore Spanx to my first few fittings but my seamstress said they were actually making me bulkier. My dress had a lot of layers that naturally kind of smoothed me. I just wore a thin pair of Jockey Skimmies to combat sweat/thigh rubbing.

You might want to look up fajas. They are like spanx except they actually suck you in more and come in a bunch of different shapes/cutouts/etc.

I bought some shapewear from Dress Barn, and I like it much better than the spanx. Mine go up over the waist but I'm pretty sure they have some that just go to the waist. My spanx had holes and runs in it after just one use. Totally not worth it for me.

I literally just did the same thing - I bought three spanx from online & tried them & found which one worked for me best! I tried the new power panties, power play mid thigh, and the thin vogue girl short. My dress is low in the back, too, so I was looking for something to lift my booty & suck in my tummy! So I was looking for what you're looking for probably!

I got them in two shipments - first the power panties & the thin vogue girl short...of the two, the thin vogue girl short were the best! They were shorter, thinner, & felt like they were actually doing something. The power panties were nice, but they ran small so I could barely get them on! Then, when I got the power play mid thigh in, they became my favorite and I totally just discarded the thin vogue girl shorts haha. Even though they're longer, they don't dig into your skin making lines. Also, the material is more breathable & not as stiff, and I felt like it gave my booty such a great lift & it sucked in my tummy! And it was pretty comfortable! Smiley smile Hope my reviews help a little!!! They do have some stores, I'm not sure where you're from, but I've actually been to one of the stores near me (King of Prussia, PA) and it helps!
