Spanx Alternatives

Kelly, on July 20, 2015 at 4:29 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 5

My sister's wedding is coming up (August 1st) and I'm the maid of honor in her ceremony. The dress I am wearing is kind of tight and form fitting to say the least. It's a one shoulder satin dress. http://www.davidsbridal.com/Product_one-shoulder-stretch-satin-short-dress-85106_bridesmaid-dresses-short-bridesmaid-dresses

Here's the problem I'm having with it. Between the time I bought the dress and a couple months back, I found out that I have a reaction whenever I wear my Spanx. I get rashy, small bumps, and extremely itchy. I notice the same thing whenever I wear mesh materials, so I think it has to be from the Spanx material. Is there anything that is similar to Spanx but not that material? Or is there any products like Spanx? Thank you for any and all responses!

Depending on your size, you could check out departments stores or specialty stores. I got my spanx-type things from Lane Bryant.

But what you describe might be a heat rash - and you might get that from any garment of that sort.

Check out under armor shorts or under wear. I've never done it, but my sister says they're great. she wears them like spanx every once in a while when we go out. They're tight and stretchy, and prevent her from getting any chub rub ( we both have huge thunder thighs) i'm pretty sure they're made out of a completely different material than spanx...or try some kind of cream to prevent the rash. i can't remember the brand, but i found a cream at DICKS sporting goods that i use when i wear dresses...another thing i do to prevent a rash -which sounds really strange but works- is putting deodorant on my inner thighs. i hope one of these helps!

I have non spanx and spanx. The cheaper ones tend to roll down. I think the material is similar.

Google allergy free shape wear. The alternatives will be more expensive (and likely have to be ordered online) but they are out there. It is probably the latex type material that you are allergic too.
