Spanish Invitations?

Candace, on April 8, 2018 at 11:28 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 10
My FH is Latino and I am white. Some of his family members do not speak English very well/at all. I'm not sure if we should do some Spanish some English invitations. I don't want to offend anyone or come across as rude. Thanks in advance for any input!

I have the same situation! What I am planning on doing is either printing 2 versions or doing bilingual invitations. For the biligual ones, you can do one side in English and the other in Spanish or write it in both languages on the same side, like a

We did two languages for everything from invites to menus. With both languages no one will be singled out

We are just printing both since invitations will be personally delivered, we can ensure they get the right kind. Save the dates will be in English since there's so little wording on it, it isn't worth the trouble. We're probably going to double print the programs to include both languages in one, so there isn't any concern of handing out the wrong one/any embarrassment from my bridesmaids when they assume someone can speak Spanish because they look Latino.

Could you do front and back invitations, front English, back Spanish ( or vice versa Smiley tongue )? Or just print a specific quantity of each example - 50 English, and 50 Spanish? Whatever mix.

We are doing bilingual on everything. It really wasn't too hard.

We aren't really planning a color scheme, but it is falling naturally into purple and grey tones.

I did 2 versions for the invitations. Save the dates were only in English as they're not a thing in Mexico (and the few that do them, call them "save the dates" in English). I didn't do programs or menus. Our website was in English only as my family in Mexico are older relatives that don't go online anyways and the few young ones are bilingual. My husband's family speak another language besides English and Spanish, but they are fluent in English, so we just included all 3 languages at the reception for the different signs.
