Spam me with all your bouquet photos!!!

Sine, on January 24, 2022 at 12:19 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 1 21
Hi everyone! I ordered only a wrist corsage for myself because at the time I was originally planning we were just having like, a glamorized elopement. Now that it's turned into more of a microwedding I thought I would just hand make a small bouquet from some roses at Wegmans for the ceremony and photos and then wear the wrist corsage when I change my dress for the reception. Spam me with homemade bouquet photos for inspiration please!!!

I don't see the need to buy a bouquet from the florist for 15 minites worth of holding it. Haha.

I bought a lot of single flowers and greenery from hobby lobby and put all of our arrangements together myself. It seems a daunting task, but you just buy colors and types that you want and start arranging. You can always take it apart and switch it up a bit or add more greenery/flowers, etc.

Here is my bouquet. I also bought flowers from hobby lobby and put them together (many different times 😂) until I got it the way I wanted it. To secure it the way I wanted I used floral wire and tape which you can get at hobby lobby or Michael’s. I would also get a pair of floral cutters if you don’t have them so that you can cut the flowers to the length you want. I hope this helps!

Fresh flowers are non negotiable for us. You can’t duplicate the scent or texture and they are cheaper than silks and wood from our research

I made all of my bouquets -- the BM/MOH are made from silk flowers that I got at Walmart and painted, then I made all of the flowers for my bouquet out of ribbon and hot-glued it on Styrofoam.

Yeah my bouquet and the boutonnières are the only things I’m not making. I’ll be buying 1000 or so wood flowers to do bridesmaids bouquets, our arch flowers and all our other decorations myself 😅

I chickened out from making my own bouquet for the wedding. I hired a woman from a local flower farm and paid $200, while we made our own BM bouquets. And honestly, I was so disappointed with how mine turned out. It was so bad I ended up getting a $100 refund because she left out a (common) flower that had huge family significance to me and just...didn't tell me?? She knew the day before, we could have fixed it, but instead she delivered a bouquet that was missing a key element of what I asked.

However! We did another photoshoot 3 months later when we were back in the city we got married. I made my own bouquet and was very, very happy with how it turned out. I got all the flowers from Publix, and it cost me about $40.
