South Carolina Beach House Wedding Rentals

Taylor, on April 22, 2015 at 1:35 PM Posted in Planning 0 3

We are searching for a rental home on the beach to have our wedding reception at. It will be a small intimate wedding and we are looking at Folly Beach, Isle of Palms and surrounding areas. Anyone been to a beach house wedding or have any information on South Carolina rental homes that allow events?

We have rented 601 West Ashley for our wedding in Aug. 2016. Fred Holland Realty was good to work with so far. $500 deposit holds our house for us until the full deposit becomes due in January of 2016. Avocet Properties also has several event homes as does Dunes properties. Avocet will only book one year in advance and they give right of first refusal to their previous guests. Fred Holland and Dunes will book farther out. There seemed to be many many beautiful event homes to choose from between the three...good luck!

Lisa, what a small world! We are renting the same home for May of 2016! I have searched and searched and for the price and location I don't think you can beat 601 W Ashley. We are from TN but my aunt lives on Johns sland and she actually went to view the home for us yesterday and she loved it. I have a question for you though, we are estimating 25-30 people and are really wanting to get away with not having to pay the event fee. Are you? How many guest will be at your wedding? I just don't see paying $1000 extra dollars for 5 more people.

My cousin had her wedding reception at Beach Rentals Santa Cruz, CA... it was a lot of fun! Ceremony was going to be on the beach but it was really windy from bad weather so she had it in the yard. She rented a tent in case it rained, which it did. One of the best weddings I've been to. Why? Because we didn't have to leave at any particular time. We partied til the sun came up. It was more relaxing too. She had food catered and hired a bartender, music she had her I pod set up and her brother volunteered to kind of mc the wedding. It was great!
