Soup and Salad Bar?

I wouldn't consider soup and salad an entree. I don't think that this will fill your guests up and it could be a disaster if you're serving alcohol. Could you possibly do this in stations? Salad station with protein-rich toppings, soup station, then another station that's a bit more filling?

If your reception is during dinner time, then I don't think this will be enough...if it's during the afternoon, then maybe it would be.

I think sandwiches and soup would be a better option if it's possible.

I'm biased but I love soup and salad, depending on the salad fixings and type of soup. Would you have lots of soup choices to pick from, like 4-5? Would the salad bar have toppings? What about a protein option (e.g. chicken you can put on a Caesar salad)? Or is it just one option of each?

If it's just one it's not enough, but if you have options for each, and a protein, I think it would be fantastic.

I would take salad over sandwiches, because I'm not a fan of bread.

If your reception will not be during a meal time, this would be fine. If you reception will go past 5:30, I do not think this is sufficient.
