Sound system for outdoor wedding

Akirah, on May 27, 2019 at 8:55 AM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 6
FH and I booked a bed and breakfast for a 50-person wedding. We’re hoping to have our ceremony outside, weather permitting. We can’t agree on whether a sound system is necessary; I think it’d be good to have because I’m not sure if our officiant can project, sometimes my FH mumbles when he talks, and there’s a road with slight traffic outside the B&B. I don’t think it’d be that big of an issue to find a sound system (the B&B doesn’t have one that can be used outside) but I think my FH doesn’t want to worry about the extra effort if possible. Thoughts?

I went to a wedding where the pastor had a mic but the couple didn’t. I barely heard the couples vows. I say get the sound system.

I would suggest getting one because your guests will like to hear the ceremony & you’ll most likely be outside. You should be able to find one reasonable.

Also, if anyone has hearing problems, a mic will help them feel more comfortable and included.

Unless you're interpretive dancing your wedding ceremony, you're gonna want that sound system. 😊

Thanks everyone! Such great thoughts. FH is going to see if he can borrow a sound system from his job. I love y’all! ❤️

If you’re hiring a band or DJ they may be able to set up a small sound system outside for the ceremony and then move inside for reception. Our videographer recommended a traditional/hand mic for officiant and a lapel mic on the groom to best pickup the audio for our video. I’ve been to outdoor ceremonies without a sound system and was so bummed to not hear the ceremony, so it was important to me to have a sound system for our wedding. 😊
