So I'm meeting with my caterer this Friday and I still have no clue what I want my menu to be. I spoke with my caterer a while ago and she pretty much said she can cook whatever I want and to come up with a menu I want to serve. We are doing buffet style. Now if I had it my way I would have a full Southern Thanksgiving layout on the table but my fmil brought up a good point that we should keep it simple and maybe just do 2 meats, 2 vegetables and 2 starches and salad. I'm also going to do a fruit and veggie table. What on your soulfood menu?

I'm not having a soulfood menu, but geez you make me want one! Lol, I love fried food, so chicken would definitely be at the top of the list. Southern Thxgiving sounds amazing! I would go with that.

We are doing soul food for our rehearsal. Our menu is:
Ham
Fried chicken
mashed potatoes
mac n cheese
greens
tossed salad
deviled eggs
cornbread

This sounds about right to me! You could do smothered chicken and fried fish instead of fried chicken and ham.

Fh thinks fried chicken is not wedding food. But I love the idea of smothered chicken and fried fish. Those sides do sound good I didn't even think of cornbread...I have to have cornbread.

We’re having a buffet with country fried chicken with white gravy on the side, pot roast, mac & cheese, sweet potato casserole, southern green beans, rolls, and then salad and fruit. We did the tasting with our caterer and it was so good!
