Sophia Tolli - Quartz (buyers remorse)

Kelsb, on June 11, 2019 at 2:44 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 10

HI! So I made my mind up on a dress after trying about 30 on. I ended up choosing the 1st dress I tried on lol.. EVERYTHING I had been looking at for weeks that I thought i'd love, I ended up choosing the opposite. Now, I'm not getting married until Aug next year and I'm starting to have crazy anxiety. Was I too impulsive? Should I keep looking? Is the dress pretty?! Has anyone else looked at, considered, tried on, bought, etc this dress??

That dress is beautiful. Do you have pics of it on you so we can reassure you?
I am also not marrying until August 2020 and also bought my dress. I bought it at the first store I went to. I suffered from major dress anxiety almost as soon as I left the store. I did a BAD thing and went and tried on more dresses afterwards. Turns out I still love my original. I think my anxiety was more about doing it so fast, and not shopping around alot... rather than about the actual dress.

I know! And I need to stay OFF pinterest and stop looking at dresses. This is the back of the dress and you can see it for the most part in the mirror.. I will try to dress it up maybe with a belt? And I know that when the dress I ordered (in the correct size) arrives, I will get a better picture. My mom wants me to be honest with myself sooner rather than later if I want to keep looking. UGH!

That dress is gorgeous. Looks great on you. I think it's also important to consider your venue: does the dress make sense for the location/vibe of the wedding?

If you already tried on 30 then I think it's safe to say you did your due diligence! If your anxiety keeps getting worse then I would keep shopping--- you might just fall back in love with this dress anyways. If you can go back and try it on with some accessories (you mentioned a belt), then that might make you feel more confident!

Objectively speaking though, that dress looks perfect on you.

Yes its an Aug wedding and the venue does match the "boho"/comfortable style of the dress. I know that my friends would take one look at it on me and say "that dress is so you".. I think I'll give myself until mid July and if I am really kicking myself, I'll go try a few more on. Thank you, Anna! I think you're right.

No problem. Just wanted to add: I liked a lot of the dresses I tried, but the one I chose is the one that my friends and mom said "that dress is SO you". That made me feel so good about it. I think if you are having that feeling about yours, then it's the one.

I think that dress is beautiful, but the only thing that matters is whether you think it's beautiful. How do you feel when you put it on? Does your anxiety come when you aren't wearing it? Are you still looking at other dresses, because if so - stop! That's a recipe for dress regret. Did you buy this dress already, or are you still deciding?

I bought my dress in the first round of looking. I went to several places, and my dress still stuck in my mind so I went back and bought it. Once I did, I stopped looking at dresses. So stop looking! You have your dress and you are going to look magnificent. It's a beautiful dress!

I bought it! Well, I put the percentage down & had the store order the dress already. It should be here in October. And yeah, the anxiety came like two days later. My mother (who has a completely different style than I do), was the only person with me when I bought it. So the fact that she wasn't going crazy over the dress has stuck w. me.. I know a lot of the anxiety is my own doing and I need to re-live the feeling I had when I had the dress on.

Thank you Smiley heart And I agree. I need to stop looking. The day will go by too fast for me even to really have second thoughts about the dress.

Do you have pics of you with it on that you really love? Does focusing on those help? Or could you go back to the bridal salon and put it on again and take some pictures to keep with you as a positive reminder?
