Songs???

Sarah, on April 15, 2021 at 7:07 AM Posted in Planning 0 3
Y'all... I'm deep in the wedding planning process and all my vendors are asking me about SONG choices. I have very little opinion honestly, and my FH is good with just whatever I want 🤷🏼‍♀️

I have a few questions for y'all, actually...
1) Would having our bridal party introduced to Forever by Chris Brown get a massive eyeroll? I love The Office, but I'm worried more people would think of the viral youtube video than the show and people would find it tacky.
2) What are the songs that are often aged that have "dances" with them? Like... I can do the chicken dance, the cha cha slide, and the macarana... Do I have to learn other dances??
3) What songs are y'all doing for specific events at your wedding? (I.e. grandmother's and mother's being seated, walking down the aisle, first kiss/after ceremony, bridal party introductions, first dance, cutting cake, garter toss, etc. etc.)
Thank you guys in advance!! Sorry I'm CLUELESS

If I was at a wedding and heard Forever by Chris Brown, I’d 100% think of The Office before the video! But I’m a huge Office fan sooo maybe I’m not the best person to ask...
The only other “dance” song I could think of would be the YMCA. It’s up to you if you play any of them! We discussed with our DJ that we only want a short snippet of one played to get people up, but other than that, music we love. But again, your choice!
We are going to use one instrumental song for fiancé/family/groomsmen/bridesmaids, but haven’t decided which. And then I am going to walk down to an instrumental of I See The Light from Tangled. For our leaving the ceremony, we’ll do a move upbeat love song! I’d say talk to your DJ, ask if you need specific songs for all those instances, and check out YouTube or Spotify playlists! Sooo many good options!

Wow, i am ALL ABOUT THE SONGS!!! lol Ryan and i are both total gaming nerds and using a lot of movie/game soundtrack music for our songs...
Ryan and his men and the pastor are coming in on “Hopes and Dreams” from the game Undertale ... dad is walking me down the isle to “the Throne Room Suite” from the end of Starwars A New Hope (where Leia gives Han/Luke/Chewie medals), when we leave ceremony Ryan picked “Atom Bomb Baby” and we are playing Lord of the Rings/Elder ScrollsSmiley atonishedkyrim music while eating/talking ... when Ryan and I are introduced at reception we are coming in on “flaming red hair” from lord of the rings (party music at bilbo’s birthday) to mention a few lol .... btw we are having a small wedding/neither family really into dancing and we are having the church sound guy play the music from my iTunes playlists

The intro song depends on your crowd. I've seen the Youtube video which I thought was cute but I wouldn't associate with anything personally except that you like the song. I wouldn't worry about it.

That depends on the crowd too. Some social circles have their own dances but as a whole, those those are the only group dances with choreography and most aren't that strict with it. Just have fun. No need to learn anything unless you want to. The Electric Slide is popular and pretty easy to learn from Youtube.

Haven't decided on any music yet. We won't be having any reception introductions or parent dances though.

You can browse wedding playlists on Pinterest and Youtube for a ton of ideas.
