Songs to walk down the aisle.

Lindsay, on January 9, 2016 at 3:48 PM Posted in Planning 0 8

I know what I will be walking down the aisle to, as well as my bridesmaids. My question is, what should play as my grandparents and flower girl, etc walk down?

    Family / groomsmen/ FH - walking to Thinking Out Loud/Ed Sheeran (instrumental)

    My bridesmaids and flower girls are walking to the same song - Marry Me/ Train (instrumental)

    Me- Tenerife Sea (with the words)

    If you go on WW on a computer, there's a Songs tab at the top with tons of suggestions. Is there a reason your grandparents and flower girl can't walk to the same thing as the rest of the wedding party?

    Personally, FW and I are doing the Star Trek Voyager theme as our processional, then the recessional is Twilight Run from Steven Universe.

    Most of my grandparents don't walk in the processional; the GM, parents, and Groom walk down to background music, then one song for the BM and FG, then another for the B.

    Top picks this year?

    I cant' help falling in love with you

    star wars theme

    forrest gump theme

    anything from the vitamin string quartet

    enya making a comeback

    theme from Jurrasic park

    Personally over;

    all of me

    1000 years

    marry me (sorry Syds)

    I think I want to marry you (which I've hated since it came out...)

    Of course, the classics;

    Pachabel's canon

    wedding march

    Vivaldi four seasons

    We're doing a comic con theme wedding, heavy on Lord of the Rings. (Think formal wedding with sci fi touches). I'm walking down the aisle to May It Be by Enya, our recessional is the Star Wars award ceremony. Background music will be Lindsey Stirling, who does amazing violin covers for a lot of sci fi theme songs. No one will get the music unless they 'get' the music.

    You only need one song for them, unless you have like 20 people in your bridal party. Then, the song switches for the bride to walk down the aisle.

    ETA: I actually did have like 20 people in my bridal party, so we had 2 songs lol. We played Jesu, Joy Of Man’s Desiring by Bach for seating of groom's grandparents, groom's parents (they're divorced so sat separately), and for the officiant, groom and 8 GM to enter. Then Canon in D by Pachelbel for the 8 BM, ring bearer and flower girl to enter. I walked to the traditional Bridal Chorus by Wagner.

    @celia I agree. Marry me is over done. My BMs just love it. Lol and I don't care. My FMIL really wanted 1000 years- I had to put my foot down there. I was so over trying to come up with music. (I just said it had to be instrumental. Lol). I'm still struggling with a song to enter the barn to. And leave the aisle.
