Song to walk down aisle

Martika, on February 18, 2019 at 1:01 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 16

So I have been having major trouble deciding on a song to walk down to. As far as bridesmaids I have no clue what they should walk down too. Any suggestions? Should it be an upbeat or slow song for them?

For me, I was thinking about walking down to make you feel my love by Adele or A Thousand Years by Christina Perri. Open to suggestions for this too. I reallyyyy want the first dance to A Thousand Years, but FH isn't digging it.

So, as much as I love A Thousand Year, I think that, if I were in your shoes, I would choose Adele. A Thousand Years is beautiful, but it's been the processional song for a lot of people and I think I like Adele's vocals better.

That being said, if your FH doesn't want to dance to A Thousand Years and you still want it in your wedding, then walk down the aisle to it. It's pretty and it sounds like you want it as part of your wedding, so I think if you can't get your FH to come around to it, then you should walk down the aisle to it.

For your bridesmaids, I think I would go for a slower vocal song to match whichever song you choose. Maybe another Adele song?

The weddingkarch can be such an unattractive song, ha! I recommend how deep is your love by The Bee Gees.

My bridesmaids are walking to Bless the Broken Road and I am walking to Make You Feel My Love. Say you won’t let go is another good one.

I’m thinking about using Boyce Avenues cover of Fix You by Coldplay. I was debating using A Thousand Years also but like someone else said, it’s used quite a bit.

We walked down together (elopement) and used a beautiful instrumental version of A Thousand Years.

Can you think of a song that really means something to the both of you? There are plenty of beautiful common songs but I think it's nice when people use a song that actually means something to them!

It is used a lot. So if I can't find anything else, I'll pick this but I'm gonna continue to do some research.

I personally am a huge fan of River Lea and Sweetest Devotion, but that's just me. Maybe you could ask your bridesmaids if they have any ideas. Tell them that you want to have either of these songs for you, but if they have any suggestions for something that fits well with whatever you end up choosing.

For my bridesmaids, because I have so many, I am picking four songs to play at least 1:05 secs, to get them down the aisle. Each song will play and fade out and in to one another. But each song represents our feelings, and love for one another. So I say whatever song makes you get all emotional is the song you go with. You want to remember your wedding and have no regrets. I’m actually using a thousands years as one of my songs!

How many do you have? I have 7, I didn't even think about picking different songs for them to make it down the aisle. Are they walking down with the groomsmen? A thousand years is such a beautiful song I have always loved it

I have nine, plus my maid of honor. I wanted a something different so I multiple songs and they just flow into another. I have not decided on the walk but they will either walk with them or the groomsmen will meet them half way and walk them up.

That's awesome. I love seeing other brides with large wedding parties like myself. I think I will have the MOH & Bridesmaids walk with Best man and groomsmen.
