Song for walking down the isle?

Belinda, on September 14, 2014 at 12:23 AM Posted in Planning 0 37

What song would any one suggest for walking down the isle? My situation is not usual I guess. We are having a small wedding, my father is dead so i will be walking down the isle by my self and if we do have a wedding party it will only be 1 best man and 1 maid of honor. Any suggestions??

I am doing "here comes the bride". Not sure about everyone else. I will hopefully see my vocalist and piano player in a couple of weeks to see what they suggest.

I am using 'the prince of Denmark's March' for my wall down the aisle. I told my musicians that other than that they could play whatever classical music they felt like playing!

I am doing Ava Maria for my processional. We are not having a bridal party but groom, officiant, mothers and our son will walk to a non traditional song, Sweet Child O Mine.

Are you looking for traditional?...Bridal Chorus (here comes the bride), Trumpet Voluntary, Cannon in D, Jesu Joy of Man's Desiring....or if non traditional, which could be anything, is there a song that means something to you?

Hmmmm.... I would say Lady Firefly that we are probable not traditional so I could go with non trad. We don't really have a song but my little sister just did a picture video with a song attached to it that i just put on my page maybe I will do that one. I will have to ask her the name of it. And we are probable not having a bridal party either, and it we do it will just be one on each side. Good choice Angeia :0)

The officiant, groom, and GM will be walking in to Forever by Ben Harper. The BM and myself will be walking in to The Luckiest by Ben Folds. The music crescendos as I'm coming down the aisle so it will work out well. Thoughts on me walking down the aisle to the same song as the BMs?

Is it weird for the bride to walk in to the same song as the bridal party? should it be 2 different songs?

I've decided on a piano and violin mashup of Bruno Mars' "Marry Me", Cannon in D, Wagner's "Here Comes the Bride", Wedding March, "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring, and Mendelsohhn's "Wedding March" . It is performed by Scott Bradlee of Postmodern Jukebox and David Wong. It is just lovely.

Do a song that was important to your father.

I am walking to Ave Maria. It was my nonnies favorite and she sounded amazing when she would sing it.

I'm walking to Vitamin String Quartet - Your Gaurdian Angel. I suggest listening to them for songs. I don't think it matters if your being walked down by anyone or by more than 1 person as long as you like the song. I picked mine because I can just imagine walking to FH to it.

Not sure if I will change my mind next year but I am thinking Aphex Twin - Avril 14th, Richard James, or Across the Universe in instrumental (George Harrison - The Beatles) because my deceased father loved the Beatles and it would be special to honor him in some way as I walk down the aisle by myself.
