Song for sand ceremony with kids

Dawn, on February 17, 2016 at 9:50 PM Posted in Planning 0 7

We are really wanting to find a song that represents family/coming together to play during the sand ceremony during our wedding. We're struggling finding the right song. Suggestions?

We're doing the sand ceremony as well. We just decided on it today, after going over it with our dw planner.

I haven't decided on a song yet, so I will follow for suggestions.

I would love to see the suggestions for this. I collect hour glasses so we are doing the sand in one with the kids doing glitter.

We are doing a sand ceremony with the kids but I had no idea there was supposed to be a song for this. So I will just bump this in case anyone else has more experience with this topic.

When I do a sand ceremony, I speak about the significance of it. Then the couple (and kids if present) pour the sand, and then I speak again. If it is just the couple pouring, it takes about 30 seconds. For each kid, add another 15 seconds. Not much time at all, so I usually recommend not having a song played. It is sometimes difficult for me to cue the musician or DJ when to start and stop the music.

You really don't need one. We usually talk through it, and I find that it is almost impossible to cue the musicians.
