I feel like I have listened to every song there possibly is to listen to and can't seem to find anything I feel is the right song to dance to with my step father. He has been in my life for about 6-7 years now but is the closest thing to a father I have ever had! My biological dad passed away a year after I met him and the one I grew up calling dad, is and always will be a dead beat. I want a song that will express exactly how thankful I am for him and all that he has done when he didnt have to.

Maybe a bit cliche, but have you thought about Piece by Piece by Kelly Clarkson? Could also be a bit touchy and emotional.

What kind of music are you into?
Either way, I’m so sorry about the loss of your dad but I’m so glad you have a step dad to dance with & maybe walk you down the aisle. ❤️

I haven't listened to that one yet, but I will right now! Right now the top contenders are dance with my daughter by Jason Blaine and There you'll be by Faith Hill. I like there you'll be but I feel like it's more about someone who has passed. I like all music but he is more into older songs and country.

I’m going to listen to those as well! How about “When you say nothing at all” by Alyson Krauss? It could easily also be a first dance song (maybe not as common for father daughter) but I love it! Still contemplating using that for mine, but I haven’t got there yet.

I think Piece by Piece is the one ! That song is so perfect & I cant believe I never came across it. It fits our situation so well and I think it will definitely tug on a few heart strings ! I will be walking down the aisle to Can't help falling in love by Elvis Presley & our first dance will be to All of me by John Legend.
