Song for Bridesmaids to Walk Into

Carol, on February 22, 2018 at 5:01 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 5
Hey ladies!

Bare with me as I try to explain: so I posted the the other day asking what music I would need for my ceremony- and I picked several (about 30 minutes worth) soft piano songs to play before the ceremony begins, so thank you for your help!
I also have a song I would love love LOVE to enter in on- butttt it’s a specific time I would want the curtains to open on (right as the first chorus begins), and that leaves the girls (all EIGHT of them) to walk down the aisle in 50 seconds!! Which isn’t enough time.

SO I have two options:

either A: have the girls walk into a separate song and have my song start as I get ready behind the curtains- only I feel like a minute is too long of a pause and wait for every one Smiley sad thoughts? Has anyone done this? What song should BMs walk into then?

OR B: have the girls walk down in pairs side by side, to make it go faster so the curtains/doors can open at the time I want? I have never seen this done- but I thought it may be a good solution?

The song is I Get to Love You by Ruelle (if you don’t know it- it’s tear worthy)

thank you you for your opinions!

What if the bm came down to a different song and then flower girl comes down at the beginning of your song???

I know what you mean. I did this exact thing where I used one song for my bridal party and me and timed it exactly for when my entrance would be. I had 3 BMs walk individually down the aisle, 2 flower girls walk individually down the aisle, and a flower girl and ring bearer walk together. That all took 2.5 minutes, but I timed it so that each got about 20-30 seconds. If you don't have too much time between each one you might be able to have them all walk down in 50 seconds. I actually practiced the timing several times both in my head and actually walking with a stopwatch to get a feel for the timing and the pace of the walk to see if it was possible. On the actual day, it worked and is one of my favorite parts of my wedding.

Thank you! I’m not having flower girls- only the 8 (maybe less depending on some things outside of anyone’s control- NOT a drama issue ☺️) bridesmaids. I’m hoping it can work out- I’m planning my wedding from a different state so I won’t get to scope out the area again until my wedding week- so that’s scary! But it will all come together!

I planned mine long distance too (2 hours away) so I couldn't go back to walk the space. What I did was I got the measurements of how long the aisle was and marked it off at home and used that as my guide for how many seconds it could take to walk down. Good luck!
