Something special for first dance?

Andrea, on June 14, 2020 at 11:10 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 1 10
I want something super special for my first dance with my man, i was thinking some of those indoor fireworks that light up from the ground but the whole venue has white cloth all around and above so idk if they would allow it. I was speaking to my wedding planner and also suggested the white smoke, however she mentioned it may cause the dance floor to get a little slippery. Any ideas?

I'd start by checking with your venue to see what's allowed. The venue we used for daughter's Sweet 16 prohibited the smoke DJs often use -- it can make the floor slippery and it can trigger allergic reactions for people with issues like asthma....

As PP said, the smoke can get overwhelming especially in a poorly vented venue. The fog kind of lingers and makes everything sweat. Cups, glasses, floor anything that has a slippery surface. It is fun though!! What about a dramatic lighting effect?

Fog or smoke does make it slippery. A friend of mine did that and right after the dance someone had to mop the floor so that was kinda weird aha but it does make the aesthetic dreamy

Hmm... i might be the odd one out, but maybe get your guests to blow bubbles? bubbles make for the most beautiful photos at weddings. just an option! other than the smoke bombs (definitely make the air feel weird for a while) or bubbles, im unsure of what you could do. try to ask your venue about what is allowed/if they have any advice for something to make it all the more special. such cute ideas though! good luck Smiley smile

I would prefer the fireworks if they have it but if not the clouds would be fine!

Fog does get slippery, and sparks can do melt spots in synthetic dresses, most of which are made of a petrolium based chemical polyester. And they burn easily. Have little moving colored spotlights, either bounced off the white drapery around the venue, or uplights to bounce of the ceiling. Go for an Aurora Borealis Effect, or simply criss crossing spotlights aimed at the dance floor from different angles, so you move in and out of them.
