Something Borrowed

Kayla, on June 28, 2020 at 11:11 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 1 16
Hello everyone! With the wedding being so close, I still haven’t found my something borrowed. This is one of the traditions I wanted to follow, and I have everything else. I got a beautiful pair of high heels to wear for my something blue, I consider my dress to be my something new, and I found my grandmothers favorite pearl necklace that I will use as my something old. But I’m stuck on the borrowed. I thought about the pearls being my something borrowed too, cause my sister wore them for her wedding too, and they are borrowed if you think about it. But I didn’t know if this was acceptable. I don’t know what else I could use, I have just about everything else, accessory wise so is there any suggestions? Thanks a lot !

Are you putting your hair up? Maybe you could borrow a hairtie?
Now that I write it, it looks silly but it seems like a low-stress, not impactful to the final look, way to get something borrowed checked off, without asking too much of others at the last minute. Someone's always got a hairtie.

There’s an accessories site that rents out bridal accessories called Happily Ever Borrowed if you want to check it out. There’s also Something Borrowed Blooms if you want to rent some silk flowers as your borrowed item!

That’s a cute and simple idea and I love it! I wanted something partially up, so that could certainly work. Thank you! Smiley smile

Don’t sweat. I didn’t get my something borrowed until a week before. My mom has her grandmothers diamond earrings. I borrowed those.
    My friend borrowed my bracelet
Can you ask your mom or a friend? You could borrow a clutch, hair clip, handkerchief

Our postponement date is my great-grandparents’ anniversary. I am going to use my great-grandmother’s rosary ☺️

I'm combining old and borrowed in the necklace from my FMiL. It's completely fine to have 1 item encompass 2 traditions.

If you're still not sure, talk to your bridal party. Maybe one of them have earrings or a bracelet that could be borrowed for the day that goes with the necklace 💗

I think it’s ok to have one item be more than one tradition too

I borrowed my MILs bracelet that was given to her by her late husband (husbands dad). I know you’ve got the necklace, could you borrow a bracelet or ring from someone to match?

My friend is letting us use the ring box from her wedding. That same friend also offered to let me carry her great grandma’s purse that she was given as her something old for her wedding. And my MOH offered to let me use her hair comb before we found one that I loved.
There are so many different things that you can borrow.

My something borrowed is going to be a bracelet my friend is letting me borrow that matches my other jewelry. You could always do something simple like that if you still have room for a small piece of jewelry. Or as someone else said, maybe a hairpiece. The pearls sound fine for a something borrowed if you ask me!

My something borrowed is my FSIL veil from her wedding! It fits perfect with my dress and I originally wasn't going to wear one because I didn't want to spend the money so she said I could borrow hers!
