Something blue - No not a garter!

Tess, on March 20, 2018 at 2:09 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 31
Our wedding is 1920 attire in a 1892 mansion.
Nothing in our venue is blue, my groom hates the idea of a garter.

Our wedding party is all in black and white,

I am in a fur stole and wearing a vintage champagne color lace with matching sequin on the gown.

My bouquet is white, assorted, with cream and blush calalilly with vintage wrapped stems adorned with vintage pearl and iridescent rhinestones.

(No veil or head piece...)

My quaundry is the blue and being creative so that it isn't obvious.

Thanks for the help in advance.

I have a silver bracelet with a tiny turquoise heart charm.

Other ideas: blue stud earrings, paint the bottom of your shoes blue, blue ankle bracelet.

Have you considered getting something on the bottom of your shoe?

I think this really depends on if you want your blue item to be seen. I have a little bit of blue on my undergarment and a little bit of blue on an item I'll be carrying during the day from someone very dear to my heart.

Have a blue patch sewn into the inside of your dress. (Some companies even make safety pins with different charms to attach to the inside of your dress without altering or changing it!)

Add a small blue brooch into your bouquet.

Wear a ring on your right hand with a blue sapphire.

Purchase a blue hankerchief to keep on your person.

Search the web or Pinterest! There are so many different ways to incorporate a blue item without being over the top with it!

Is there a man in your life meaningful to you, other than your FI? Do they have or wear a blue workshirt?

You could cut a heart shape and sew it to the lining of your dress. Or just get a piece of fabric embroidered with your initials and wedding date and attach it with temporary stitching to the lining. A tee shirt shop can do this for you.

I really like the safety pin idea!
Maybe on the back side of my bouquet?

    Thank you so much.

I did, the idea is so charming too. But my shoes are throughout leather ballroom dance, so the decals won't stick.

    Thank you. 😔

I had blue in my flowers, so it was easy, but I also borrowed a handkerchief of my grandmother's. I folded it and carried it with my bouquet, so I'd have it in case I cried. It wasn't very visible since I just carried it behind the flowers and then handed it to my BM to hold with my bouquet. It worked perfect and meant a lot.

Sapphire jewelry would be lovely. Or maybe a navy blue ribbon around your bouquet stems?

Thank you. I wish I did still have my grandmother's silk handkerchiefs.
Your comment made me think of her and them, sweet.

Blue also doesn't go with my theme at all. I was looking for anklets and whatnot that would be subtle/unseen. I finally found a blue belly ring that I plan to wear Smiley smile
