I’m still astounded by how many times I’ve been asked. 😂😂🙄 Who else is experiencing this regularly?! Lemme guess... ALL OF US! 🥴

My bank teller said "I cant wait to see your wedding" and I think I had a horrified look on my face. Because she added "you better bring us photos after the day"

Yep hahaha. I think he feels like he's being polite because people are like "whens the wedding!?". He's like "well we don't really have it invite them!" He just doesn't get it haha

I had someone respond to a post I made on Instagram about my FH where I mentioned it was the official 1 year countdown with "I need an invite"

That was literally what they said.

I haven't talked to them in 4 years.

My FH hasn't talked to them in 5 years.

Why would this guy get invited?

Ughhh! That’s so annoying. I’m so sorry! I fear this is the case for many couples. I simply refuse to give in, but it doesn’t make the situation any less awkward. I’m sure I’ll lose a couple of “friends” over it, but honestly I’m not bothered by that anymore. I’m just not interested in saving face with people that I hardly talk to. Personally, I would not want to be invited to someone’s wedding that I have not spoken to in a long time, save for maybe family. My FSIL got married two years ago and she didn’t invite someone that she used to be friends with (they hadn’t hung out or spoken in over three years by this point) and that person got extremely angry at her and refused to ever speak to her again. It’s so petty and immature. Oh well! 🤷🏼‍♀️

I don’t think most men folk get it, honestly. Ha! My fiancé has done this once! I wouldn’t have minded that person coming to our wedding, but he used to date one of my bridesmaids and it didn’t end so well. I don’t want to make her uncomfortable. So needless to say, he will not be getting an invitation. The fiancé says he won’t be making that mistake again. Haha!

😂😂😂 THIS AMAZES ME!! I’m shocked with every story that I hear about this. It’s annoyingly, yet funny as all get out at the same time. I’m about to start laughing in people’s faces as a PP mentioned doing!

OMG YES!!! Sometimes it's drunkenly asking our neighbor down the street (who we've barely known a couple of months), and other times it's people from FHs work that I've never met and we've never socialized with. But he gets so excited he can't talk about anything else! I can't get FH to understand that for every person he randomly invites, it's going to cost us money!! Yikes!! I'm like, shut up already!!

We are currently designing our STDs, and I told him flat out, I'm sending them to the list we agreed to, and have addresses for. If you didn't get the address of your HR lady at work, oh well! She's not invited!!

We just answer "When's the wedding?" with "Next March."
An aunt and a cousin of mine both asked me, so we told them the exact date.
If they're invited, we give them a specific date. If they maybe or are not invited, they get the month. We assume they'll take the hint.

Exactly! I actually explained to one person that my wedding is going to end up costing around $120 per person (ceremony chair rentals, venue, food, open bar, cake, photo booth, etc) and she quit asking me after that. I only did it because she had asked me three times. I’m a bartender and she is a customer. I really like her and all, but some of my family isn’t even invited...

Yeah we usually say "oh we still have a while" or "next year!" (its oct 2020 which is still a ways away). The worst is when the old church ladies are like "well if you want to invite us old ladies we'd love to come!" and I'm like "hehe yeah thanks!" and then I try to run away haha.

I get it... weddings are usually a lot of fun! I love going to them, but I would never be offended if I didn’t get invited to someone’s wedding that I am not super close with. RUN AWAY! Lmao.

Haahaaha! My mom's friend (who I really like, but only met once) told my mom "I'm invited, right? " and my mom says "of course!" without even asking me. And she's not paying for it. Ugh.

We had a sudden death in the family 3 months before our wedding. So just this past weekend. At the funeral we saw all the family and they wanted to hear about the wedding. They were asking where and the date. So we told them, and they were all "oh ok yea, we can make that."

the problem is that we weren't planning to invite ALL the family - aunts and uncles that we don't see often and we aren't close to. But it's already a small wedding, and adding ~10 people isn't gonna kill us or break the bank.

After losing a close family member so suddenly, we are both fine with letting everyone come celebrate. Hell, it's only money - we'll make more. Smiley heart Smiley smile
