Sola Wood Flowers?

Caryn, on February 28, 2022 at 3:32 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 7

Has anyone used sola wood flowers for DIY centerpieces or bouquets? What did you think? Are they easy to work with/dye? Any tips or experiences would be appreciated. Thanks!

I worked with them a little bit. They are fun and easy to work with! However, I learned that I definitely do not have the skills of a florist lol, so my test bouquet didn't go as well as I hoped. Give yourself plenty of time to work with them. I didn't dye them myself, though the dyed ones I bought turned out beautiful.

They are awesome! I bought a bag of 100 last summer and created a few different arrangements around the house. About 8 months later and they still look lovely. It does take some experimenting to see which shades you like together (you can mix paints, and add more or less water for different saturation levels). I say try it out and see how you like them. I’ll be using them for our wedding in July. I plan on ordering the flowers soon and the maybe waiting to dye the in May or June. I will post a couple pictures here to show you how the decorations at home came out. Coming soon Smiley smile

We are using them to make our centerpieces. I got the pre dyed ones and I love that they will last forever. Sola Wood Flowers? 4

Thanks! I am thinking of dyeing them myself and placing them directly on the table around the bases of pillar candles (no florist skills required!).

We're going with pre made bouquets from Southern Blooms. We've ordered samples from other wood flower vendors and even silk flowers, but we like Southern Blooms the best. Either way, the wooden flowers are gorgeous and more environmentally friendly than fresh flowers.

I bought some last month and haven't tried them yet. How much space do I need to clear out/set aside to dye the flowers? I'm currently painting other things on my large craft desk for the wedding, and I'm wondering if I should set up another table.
