Sola wood flowers on cake?

Chandra, on January 22, 2019 at 7:01 PM Posted in Planning 0 3
Anybody here used sola wood flowers as decor on the cake? The seller who is making my wedding bouquets also sells cake toppers with them.
The baker who works with our venue only does basic cakes and a lot of the extras will cost me a bit so asking for sugar work flowers would be pricey. I'm not even sure if they can do sugar work....they told me to get back to them a month before the wedding and they would figure things out. But i've seen some beautiful sola peonies for cheap that I could DIY as an alternative. Just wondering if it's been done.

I'm using Sola wood flowers on our cake. Our baker actually suggested it! She said she did one like that and it was so pretty. So I just took pictures and measurements of the ones I had left from the bouquets and she chose from there. I think they'll look beautiful! Sugar flowers are gorgeous but pricey. It sounds like you may not want to trust their work either. They don't seem super confident on making them.

Hey Chandra!! I haven't heard of anyone's personal experience with this but I have seen tons of photos and I love the look. Based on your previous DIY's I definitely think that you could pull this off and make them on your own.

Have you thought about ordering some to try out?

I've definitely thought about it! I've been doing some research on them.
