Sola Wood Flowers DIY

Danyeil, on July 9, 2017 at 12:57 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 1 8

Has anyone made their own bouquets and center pieces out of the sola wood flowers? I'm really thinking about using them. They look so pretty and I absolutely hate most silk flowers. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. We are getting married at a winery.

Our theme is burlap and lace.

I'm in the process of making mine. I was nervous at first that I wouldn't be able to color the flowers as darkly as I wanted (one of my colors is wine/deep red) but I found that I was able to achieve the color I wanted.

I'm using slightly watered down acrylic paint and brushing it on the flowers, although many tutorials tell you to dip dye them. Brushing takes a bit longer but I find that the color is better (at least with darker hues). I haven't gotten to putting together the actual bouquet yet, but overall the dying process was much easier than I expected! Let me know if you have any other questions.

I am in the process of making our centerpieces but have already made our boutonnières. They were pretty easy to make and look very nice in person. I ordered the bouquets through EcoFlower.com because I wasn't brave enough to attempt that on my own

@NatHam11 Your bouquets are gorgeous! What did you use for your filler? I'm still exploring options.

Please do not order from eco flower! I used to sing praises for them, and they're awful now.

I'm making my centerpieces with flowers purchased from sola wood flower. I'm dying them myself and the process is a lot easier than i thought! Arranging is where I second guess myself, but I have some time! Here is just an example of my first attempt, it will get better!!

Yes I just finished mine this weekend. Fillers were dried baby's breath and caspia.
