Sober rides after reception.

Caitlyn, on August 17, 2017 at 3:06 PM Posted in Planning 0 14

So I just now realized I have no plans on how to get guests who had too much to drink back to the hotel. I doubt I would even have time to book a bus to take them back at this point. I'm not sure what do do? Help!

I don't expect to have someone else drive me -- DH and I discuss who will be driving (sober) from an event/wedding/party. A shuttle is a bonus but I don't expect it.

Have you tried bus companies? You may get really lucky and find one not booked.

Otherwise, they're adults and can figure it out

I've seen a few posts where people have done UberEvents for people. We have people staying all over because it's a holiday weekend so we don't have any organized transportation. I've never gone to a wedding expecting transportation (although it's nice). It might be a little stressful for you to set something up so quick but just know uber, lyft, and even taxis are still a thing. Adults know how to get home responsibly. I wouldn't worry about it.

We are doing a school bus as well. They typically have a lot of buses so that may be your best bet of you choose to supply a ride to guests

They are adults who have presumably left the house before. Their own personal transportation is their own personal responsibility.

Transportation is on them. If they drank too much to drive, that is not your problem. They are responsible adults & should make the decision to watch how much they drink and/or make their own transportation arrangements. Whenever FH & I go somewhere, we take turns on who drinks & who drives

My DOC and bartenders will call cabs for people if need be. Also. They are adults.

Uber works great they will figure it out, I'm sure this is not the first wedding that didn't have a shuttle to drive them back with

They're adults they can figure it out! We didn't do a shuttle either. Although our venue was really great about letting people leave their cars there until the next morning in case they couldn't drive home

If you blocked rooms with a hotel, I would see if they offer a complimentary shuttle for your guests. My hotel gives us a free shuttle so long as we have 15 rooms booked. It's a great amenity they offer and is worth having for the safety of your guests!
